Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how LayoutGuard (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal data when you visit layoutguard.com, make a purchase, or otherwise interact with us.

1) Who we are (Data Controller)

2) Personal data we process

  • Account & identity: name, email, phone, billing/shipping address, country.
  • Business identifiers (if buying as a business/freelancer): Company name, VAT ID (DIČ), Business ID (IČO).
  • Order & service data: items purchased (plans/add-ons), prices, currency, order notes, support requests, subscription status (if applicable).
  • Payment-related:
    • Cards / Apple Pay / Google Pay: processed by WooPayments (powered by Stripe). We receive payment status and limited metadata (e.g., last four digits, card brand) — not full card numbers.
    • Bank transfer (SEPA / QR): payer name, IBAN and payment reference (e.g., “Order #1234”) may appear on our bank statements; we display a QR code to prefill the transfer.
  • Technical: IP address, device/browser information, logs, and cookies (see Cookie Policy).
  • Marketing preferences: newsletter opt-ins/outs and cookie consents.

3) Why we process data (legal bases)

  • Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): create/manage your account, process orders, deliver services, provide support.
  • Legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)): accounting/tax, consumer protection, record-keeping.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): site security, fraud prevention, service improvement, contacting you about service changes, recovering unpaid invoices.
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): newsletters and non-essential cookies/analytics. You may withdraw consent at any time.

4) Cookies & analytics

We use essential cookies for cart/checkout and security. With your consent, we may use analytics/marketing cookies. Manage choices via our cookie banner or your browser settings. See our Cookie Policy for details.

5) Payments

  • WooPayments (Stripe): Cards and digital wallets (Apple Pay/Google Pay) are processed by WooPayments (Stripe) acting as our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers or wallet credentials on our servers.
  • Bank transfer (SEPA QR): We provide our bank details and a SEPA QR containing your order amount and reference; orders paid by bank transfer remain On hold until funds arrive.
  • Refunds/chargebacks: handled according to our Terms; processor fees may not be returned by the processor.

6) Sharing your data (recipients)

We share data only as necessary, under appropriate contracts:

  • E-commerce & hosting: WordPress/WooCommerce and our web host.
  • Payments: WooPayments (Stripe); our bank for incoming transfers.
  • Email/CRM/support: (e.g., your email or newsletter provider, helpdesk).
  • Analytics/consent tools: (e.g., your analytics and cookie-consent platform).
  • Professional services: accountants and legal advisers (as needed).

7) International transfers

Some providers (e.g., Stripe) may process data outside the EEA. In such cases we rely on EU adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) with appropriate safeguards.

8) Retention

  • Orders & invoices: retained for statutory periods (typically up to 10 years from the end of the accounting period).
  • Support & communications: for as long as needed to resolve and document interactions.
  • Marketing consents: until you withdraw consent or your account is deleted.
    When retention ends, we delete or anonymise data.

9) Your rights

You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or objection to processing, and you may withdraw consent at any time.

10) Security

We apply technical and organisational measures (TLS encryption, access controls, least-privilege accounts, updates/backups). No method is 100% secure; we act promptly to address issues.

11) Children

Our services are not directed to children under 16. If we learn we collected data from a child without proper consent, we will delete it.

12) Automated decision-making

We do not perform automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

13) Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in law or our practices. We will post the new version with an updated effective date; significant changes may be announced on the site or by email.
